2-Day Panama Teak & Darién Adventure
Join us for a two-day guided journey into Panama’s Darién region, where adventure meets insight into one of the world’s most sought-after hardwoods.
On the first day, cross the calm waters of Lake Bayano by motorized canoe before venturing into a dramatic network of ancient limestone caves. Hike through rainforest terrain, wade through cool streams, and swim in hidden natural pools carved deep within the cavern system.
Day two shifts the focus from exploration to opportunity. Walk through a thriving 10–15-year-old teak farm, visit the eco-sawmill in Mundito where harvested timber begins its transformation into high-value wood products, and understand the long-term ROI that makes Teak one of the world's most reliable timber investments.
It’s a rare opportunity to experience the landscapes where teak grows and see firsthand how forests are transformed into lasting value.

This 2-day expedition is more than a tour. It's an immersion into the tangible reality behind sustainable timber investment. You'll journey from Panama City through the Darién wilderness, exploring active teak farms where 10-15 year growth cycles translate to measurable returns. This is investment due diligence in its most authentic form: walking the land, understanding the yield, witnessing the process from seedling to sawmill.
Teak forestry offers portfolio diversification backed by hard assets: trees that appreciate predictably over decades. You'll see sustainable milling operations, meet local partners, and gain firsthand insight into why institutional investors have allocated to tropical hardwoods for generations. The Bayano Caves adventure and traditional Panamanian meals provide cultural context to the region where your capital could work for you.
This isn't speculative. It's land-backed, time-tested, and transparent. The question isn't whether teak belongs in a diversified portfolio. It's whether you're ready to see the opportunity with your own eyes.

What our tour guests say
The 2-day Teak & Darién Adventure exceeded our expectations. The combination of natural cave exploration and educational teak plantation tours provided genuine insight into sustainable forestry investment. The ECI Development team demonstrated extensive knowledge and professionalism throughout. Highly recommended for anyone considering timber investment opportunities.
An exceptional experience from start to finish. The Bayano Caves were breathtaking, and the sawmill demonstration provided clear understanding of sustainable milling practices. The logistics were well-managed despite challenging road conditions. This tour delivers exactly what serious investors need to evaluate teak opportunities.
The tour provided comprehensive due diligence for our teak investment decision. Walking through 10-15 year old plantations and seeing the complete milling process gave us confidence in the ROI projections. The adventure component—hiking through Bayano Caves and swimming in natural pools—was an unexpected bonus. We've since invested in a teak parcel.
As someone evaluating alternative investments for portfolio diversification, this tour delivered exactly the transparency I needed. The farm walking tour clearly explained planting cycles and harvest timelines. The lakeside lunch and banana leaf meal showcased authentic Panamanian hospitality. The accommodations at Portal Avicar were comfortable and practical.
I wanted to understand teak investment before committing capital, and this tour provided the factual information I required. Seeing mature farms and operational sawmills removed speculation from the equation. The Bayano Caves hike was moderately challenging but manageable with proper footwear. The early access pricing made the decision straightforward. ECI Development's 26 years of regional experience is evident in every detail.
